CONSOLIDATED THEATRES BIDS FOND ALOHA TO ITS LOCATION AT KOKO MARINA CENTER
HONOLULU (July 25, 2023) – Consolidated Theatres, an affiliate of Reading International, Inc. (NASDAQ: RDI)., announces today that it will close its location at the Koko Marina Center on Sunday, July 30, after the last scheduled show. The decision was made after a strategic evaluation of its cinema portfolio that took into account current market conditions.
“It has been an honor and privilege to operate in the heart of the Hawaiʻi Kai community for decades. We offer great thanks to the people that we have served at this Consolidated location over many years,” said Rod Tengan, Regional Manager of Consolidated Theatres. “Despite a myriad of challenges faced by the exhibition industry from the unprecedented pandemic, we are honored to be recognized as an industry leader in Hawaiʻi, and want our loyal audiences to know that our commitment to serving you, and delivering the highest quality entertainment, remains our top priority.”
To thank the Hawai’i Kai community for years of patronage, Consolidated Theatres will offer each moviegoer who visits Consolidated Theatres at the Koko Marina Center the last weekend of operation – Friday, July 28, through Sunday, July 30 – a free popcorn and Mahalo Day ticket pricing ($7 for all seats, all day). Also, on a first come, first served basis, guests will be invited to take an old movie poster from the theater’s library.
With a talented team at the foundation of the business’ fortitude, Consolidated Theatres is taking steps to transition impacted service associates to other Consolidated Theatres locations.
