‘We were absolutely thrilled to receive such a standout award again from AIDA, a well-respected institution that has had such a positive influence on Australian cinema and its film industry for decades,’ Mark Douglas, Managing Director of Reading Cinemas Australia said.

‘The State Cinema by Angelika holds a special place in the heart of all Hobartians and our company is extremely honored and proud to continue to nurture such an icon.’

The award caps off a standout year for the State, having recently celebrated an amazing 110 years of entertaining the local community. In addition, to hosting the Jewish International Film Festival, the State will soon offer the State-of-Mind Festival, which has been curated by Mike Vile, head programmer for Reading Australia.
